Afterglow captures the quiet moment after sunset when colour still lingers across the sky. A lone gum tree anchors the foreground while the landscape opens out across rural fields toward distant hills on the horizon.

The sky becomes the focal point of the painting, shifting through a radiant spectrum of colour. Deep violet rests along the horizon, gradually blending into pinks, oranges and warm yellows before transitioning into turquoise and soft blue higher in the sky.
